Dulab Cemetery

Dulab Cemetery is a multi-denominational burial ground in south Tehran that serves several Christian communities. The site spreads across a large area with separate sections for Armenian, Russian, Catholic, and Assyrian believers, each maintaining their own burial spaces and grave markers.

The cemetery was established in the mid-19th century after a prominent European physician at the royal court passed away. It subsequently became an important place where several Christian communities could bury their dead together.

The cemetery reflects the diversity of Christian communities that settled in Tehran over time. Visitors can observe different burial customs and inscriptions that reveal the Armenian, Russian, Catholic, and Assyrian traditions present in the city.

The cemetery holds graves of European professionals and diplomats who came to Persia in the 1800s. Among those buried here are soldiers from different nations who found their final resting place there during the 20th century.
