Sheikh Bastami Mosque

Sheikh Bastami Mosque is a mosque and shrine complex in Bastam featuring multiple prayer halls and tombs arranged around courtyards. The structure includes distinct areas for male and female worshippers, with a tall minaret serving as a prominent architectural landmark of the site.

The complex originated in the early 8th century as a religious site. Over the following centuries it was repeatedly rebuilt and expanded, with construction phases introducing architectural styles from different periods including Abbasid, Seljuk, Ilkhanid, and Qajar traditions.

The mosque serves as a pilgrimage destination where visitors encounter devotees paying respects at the tombs of Abu Yazid al-Bastami and Muhammad ibn Jafar al-Sadiq.
