Abu al-Hassan Kharaqani Mausoleum

The mausoleum structure stands at 1468 meters elevation, constructed with brick and plaster materials that demonstrate traditional Persian architectural techniques.

Built around 1100 and renovated in 1252, the mausoleum honors Sheikh Abu al-Hassan al-Kharaqani, a Persian mystic who lived from 963 to 1033.

The structure incorporates elements of Ghaznavid and Ilkhanid architectural styles, featuring a mihrab with detailed stucco reliefs and inscriptions.

Located 24 kilometers from Shahroud, the mausoleum includes dedicated rooms for pilgrims and a specialized library focusing on mysticism references.

The complex contains the preserved mihrab of an original mosque, which was later integrated into a new religious structure before 1979.
