Jameh Mosque of Bersian

The Jameh Mosque of Bersian is a brick prayer house with multiple chambers and courtyards added over generations. The building has thick walls, domes, and a freestanding tower with decorative surfaces.

Construction began in the late 1000s with the tower and continued with various rooms. Over the following centuries, additional sections were added, especially during later periods.

The mosque displays geometric patterns and plaster work on its interior surfaces, typical of Persian prayer spaces from this era. Visitors can observe how the room layout guides people toward the prayer direction.

The site is relatively open and easy to enter, with most areas on level ground. Visitors should wear appropriate clothing and watch their step on slippery plaster or brick floors.

The building features asymmetrical domes at different heights, showing how craftsmen developed their techniques across centuries. This uneven form was not accidental but reflects deliberate design choices.
