Titi Caravanserai

Titi Caravanserai is a resting place for travelers in Siahkal County, built from brick, stone and plaster around a central courtyard. The structure keeps its original rooms and corridors that once housed merchants passing through the region.

This building was commissioned around 1600 during the Safavid era by a woman from the ruling family. It was constructed to shelter merchants traveling between two important settlements in the region.

The building shows Persian construction methods from two different eras, blending styles that developed over time. Visitors can see these techniques in the stonework and plaster details throughout the rooms and courtyards.

Wear sturdy shoes when exploring, as floors inside can be uneven and light is limited. Visit during daylight hours to see the rooms and courtyards clearly without difficulty.

This resting place was founded by a woman from the ruling family, making it unusual among remaining examples in northern Iran. Her patronage was an uncommon form of support for merchants traveling through the region at that time.
