Feyziyeh Madrasa

The Feyziyeh Madrasa building incorporates elements of Safavid and Qajar architecture, constructed with brick, plaster, and traditional Persian tiles.

Founded in 1533 during the Safavid period, the madrasa underwent major expansions in 1799 and 1803, with additional renovations completed in 1839.

The madrasa functions as a primary center for Shia Islamic studies, providing education to scholars and religious leaders from various regions.

Located next to the shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh, the madrasa contains 40 rooms on the first floor, four verandas, and 12 stalls.

On March 22, 1963, the madrasa became the site of significant protests against Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi's White Revolution reforms.
