Chal Nakhjir is a limestone cave system in Delijan featuring a ten-meter-wide entrance that opens into passages across multiple levels. The cave contains several halls decorated with stalactites, stalagmites, and crystalline stone formations throughout.
The cave formed roughly 70 million years ago through tectonic activity deep in geological time. It was discovered in 1989 when water engineers from Delijan were investigating underground water sources.
The name joins 'Chal', meaning pit, with 'Nakhjir', referring to hunting grounds, reflecting traditional hunting in the region. The cave served as a landmark for those traveling through the mountain terrain.
Illuminated pathways longer than 1000 meters guide visitors through accessible sections of the cave. The route connects multiple halls and allows exploration of different areas throughout the system.
