Marsciano, Municipality in Perugia province, Italy.
Marsciano is a municipality in the province of Perugia, located about 25 kilometers (16 miles) south of the provincial capital and at an elevation of 184 meters (604 feet) above sea level. The municipality covers an area of 161 square kilometers (62 square miles) and includes several smaller hamlets and rural countryside with rolling hills.
The area developed along the Nestore River, a tributary of the Tiber that forms the eastern boundary with the neighboring municipality of Collazzone. This position near waterways shaped the growth of settlements and agricultural use of the surrounding countryside over centuries.
The 19th-century theater is called Concordia and shows a classical front that now serves as the entrance to a modern cinema. This conversion connects architectural tradition with today's use for film and entertainment.
The municipality has direct connections to several nearby towns such as Deruta, Fratta Todina, Perugia, Piegaro, San Venanzo, and Todi. These links make day trips to the surrounding area easier and turn the place into a suitable base for tours through the region.
The town has international partnerships with Tremblay-en-France, Orosei, Loropéni, and Jablonec nad Nisou for cultural exchange and cooperation. These connections bring regular visitors from different countries and lead to joint events and projects.
