Buja is an administrative division in the province of Udine in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The area includes several small communities such as Avilla, San Floreano, Sopramonte, Solaris, Madonna, Urbignacco, and Santo Stefano.
In 1371, Patriarch Marquard of Randeck established a council and granted the municipality its own statutes. This event marked a turning point in the territory's path toward self-governance and independent administration.
