Mercato San Severino

Mercato San Severino is a municipality in the Province of Salerno in the Campania region. The town spreads across hilly terrain and is served by two railway stations along the Salerno-Mercato San Severino line.

The settlement grew from a Roman marketplace known as Forum Sancti Severini in ancient times. This past as a trading center shaped its identity through to its modern name.

The town honors its patron saint San Rocco with an annual celebration on August 16 that brings the whole community together. This festival shapes the rhythm of local life and shows how people here stay connected to their traditions.
