Lajatico

Lajatico is a small municipality in the Province of Pisa built across hilly terrain with traditional stone buildings and narrow winding streets. The village sits within rolling Tuscan countryside that surrounds it on all sides.

The settlement appeared in written records in 891 and grew from earlier Etruscan roots with Lombard influence beginning in the 7th century. Control passed through hands of powerful regional families who shaped its development.
