The 11-kilometer stretch of Lido features sandy beaches along the Adriatic Sea, separating Venice Lagoon from open waters.

The island served as a military defense point for Venice, with Metamaucum settlement dating back to Roman times as the second ducal seat.

The Venice Film Festival takes place at Palazzo del Cinema each year between August and September, drawing international cinema professionals.

Visitors can access both private and public beaches, with the northern section offering free entry and the Hotel Excelsior providing premium facilities.
