Novafeltria

Novafeltria is a commune in the Province of Rimini in the Emilia-Romagna region. It spreads across rolling terrain and sits in a rural setting with road links to several neighboring towns.

The settlement originated around 950 AD as a parish church community and grew into a market town without defensive walls. This open layout allowed trade and agriculture to flourish without the constraints of fortification.

The town hall in the center occupies a sixteenth-century villa built by the Counts of Segni from Bologna. This building shows how wealthy families from the region expressed their influence through architecture.

The town is well connected by road to nearby villages like San Leo and Sant'Agata Feltria. Having a car is helpful since public transportation is limited in this rural area.

A cable transport system operated for nearly four decades, carrying sulphur from mines in the nearby hills down to the train station. This engineering feat connected the local mining industry to the wider rail network.
