Temple of Hadrian, Roman temple in Campus Martius, Rome, Italy
The Temple of Hadrian displays eleven Corinthian columns and a cella wall integrated into a modern building at Piazza di Pietra.
Antoninus Pius commissioned this temple in 145 CE to honor his adoptive father Emperor Hadrian following the latter's elevation to divine status.
The temple's pedestals featured carved reliefs depicting Roman provinces, demonstrating the geographical extent of imperial control during the second century.
The structure now houses the Rome Chamber of Commerce while maintaining its original marble columns and architectural elements for public viewing.
The temple's columns were constructed from Proconnesian marble, characterized by distinctive grey and white horizontal bands from northwestern Turkey.
