Teatro Capranica, Historic theatre in Piazza Capranica, Rome, Italy.

The Teatro Capranica occupies a section of the Renaissance Palazzo Capranica, featuring a U-shaped design with six tiers of boxes and ornate decorations.

The Teatro Capranica opened its doors on January 6, 1679, with Arcangelo Corelli conducting the orchestra for Bernardo Pasquini's opera premiere.

During its golden age, the theatre served as Rome's main opera venue, presenting works by composers Alessandro Scarlatti, Caldara, and Antonio Vivaldi.

The venue currently functions as a space for conferences and performances, located at 101 Piazza Capranica in the Colonna district of Rome.

The theatre transformed from an opera house to a cinema in 1922 under architect Carlo Wallis, before becoming an event space in the 21st century.
