Il Giardino, Sculpture garden and modern art museum in Seggiano, Italy.
Il Giardino is an art garden and museum space in Tuscany with around 100 sculptures spread across about 40 hectares. The works stand among trees, meadows, and natural formations that interact with the artistic pieces.
A Swiss artist founded this project in 1997 at a location formerly marked on maps as Il Paradiso. The collection grew from his desire to anchor artworks permanently in nature.
This place exhibits works by artists from around the world in a natural setting. You find installations here that blend with the landscape and invite reflection.
The garden is accessible on foot with paths that wind between the artworks. It is wise to wear comfortable shoes and allow time for wandering, as the grounds are spread out.
One striking work features 160 stone ducks appearing to march across the meadow in procession. Other pieces such as bronze soldiers by a pond or a face formed from stones emerge quietly within the terrain.
