Trajan's Market, Archaeological ruins in Rome, Italy.

The Market complex extends across six levels against the Quirinal Hill, featuring brick vaults and 150 different chambers connected by internal streets.

Architect Apollodorus of Damascus designed this monumental structure, which opened in 113 CE during Emperor Trajan's reign after the Dacian victories.

The Via Biberatica runs through the market center, where remains of shops and administrative offices demonstrate Roman commercial organization.

The Museum of Imperial Forums, established in the market since 2007, displays exhibitions about the site's history and daily Roman life.

The architectural system employs cylindrical barrel vaults, concrete, and bricks to sustain the structure against the hillside slope.
