Partanna is a commune in Trapani Province situated in western Sicily's mountainous region at approximately 414 meters (1,360 feet) above sea level. The municipality spans around 82 square kilometers of varied terrain typical of this part of the island.
The administrative structure of the commune changed in 2015 when it joined the Free Municipal Consortium of Trapani. This reorganization replaced the previous provincial governance system.
