Tiarno di Sopra, Alpine municipality in Ledro Valley, Italy
Tiarno di Sopra is a small municipality on the western side of Ledro Valley, sitting on mountain slopes surrounded by forests and alpine meadows. The settlement spreads across hilly terrain with scattered houses and farms linked by roads and paths.
The municipality formed in 2010 when five separate village communities merged into a single administrative unit. This merger shaped the modern structure of today's Ledro region.
The Church of Saint Bartholomew shapes the village center with its prominent bell tower rising distinctly above surrounding homes. The tower serves as a landmark that visitors notice from across the valley.
The area offers different lodging options such as small hotels, apartments, and country inns in mountain settings. Visitors can access hiking trails and mountain biking routes that pass through the surrounding peaks.
Nearby sits the protected Ampola Lake with a nature trail where visitors can discover water and marsh plants. The small lake is overlooked by most travelers and offers a quiet spot away from main hiking routes.
