Territorial Abbey of Mont-Cassin

This territorial abbey is a Benedictine monastery located on a limestone hill in southern Italy. The complex features marble staircases, decorated chapels, cloisters, and crypts arranged within its stone walls.

Saint Benedict of Nursia founded the monastery in 529, establishing rules that guided monastic communities throughout Europe. The monastery was later reconstructed after significant destruction during World War II.
