Katun, Steel roller coaster in Mirabilandia, Italy
Katun is a steel roller coaster at Mirabilandia amusement park that rises approximately 52 meters high. The ride features six inversions and travels over roughly 1,200 meters of track while suspending riders beneath the rails.
The ride opened on January 4, 2000, as a collaboration between Swiss designer Bolliger & Mabillard and German engineering firm Stengel. This project represented a milestone in suspended roller coaster design across Europe.
Located in the Sian Ka'an area of Mirabilandia, the roller coaster incorporates ancient Maya civilization themes throughout its structure and surrounding environment.
Visitors must meet a minimum height requirement of about 140 centimeters to ride. The suspended seating arrangement offers an unusual riding experience with feet dangling freely over the track.
The complete ride lasts approximately two minutes and 22 seconds, making it a remarkably extended journey. With six inversions packed into this timeframe, it delivers a continuous and intense experience.
