San Michele Maggiore, Romanesque basilica in Pavia, Italy.

The San Michele Maggiore Basilica spans 55 meters in length and features three naves with an octagonal dome at their intersection point.

Construction of the current basilica began in the late 11th century on the site of an earlier church that burned down in 1004.

The basilica's sandstone facade displays an extensive collection of religious and secular sculptures representing medieval Italian craftsmanship and symbolism.

Three separate entrance doors lead to each nave, with the transept having its own access portal on the northern side.

The church served as the coronation site for several Italian kings, including Frederick I Barbarossa in 1155.
