Museo archeologico di Terni

The Museo archeologico di Terni displays objects from excavations across the province of Terni, including sculptures and everyday items from different periods. The exhibition is arranged in several rooms with carefully organized display cases and explanatory panels about the archaeological findings.

The museum opened in 2004 to preserve and display archaeological finds from the pre-Roman era. The collections document the area's history from its earliest inhabitants through the development of the Roman city of Interamna.

The collection displays inscriptions, Roman statues, and temple remains that show how the region developed over time. Visitors can see how different peoples lived here and left their marks on the landscape.

The museum is located in the city center and is wheelchair accessible. Visitors should allow about one to two hours to explore the collections at a comfortable pace and read the information panels.

The museum preserves the foundation inscription of the city of Terni, a rare artifact that documents the official establishment. The collection also includes items from the private collection of Elia Rossi Passavanti, who donated it to the municipality.
