Su Romanzesu, Archaeological site in Bitti, Italy
The Su Romanzesu archaeological site spans seven hectares and contains a holy well, one hundred huts, two megaron temples, and a rectangular temple.
The settlement at Su Romanzesu began in the 14th century BC and remained active until the 7th century BC, later occupied by Romans during 2nd-3rd centuries AD.
The archaeological complex demonstrates advanced architectural methods through its granite structures, including an elliptical amphitheater and a large labyrinth formation.
The site maintains seasonal hours, operating from April through September with extended afternoon hours and modified schedules from October through March.
Archaeologist Antonio Taramelli discovered Su Romanzesu in 1921, revealing a complex system of Bronze Age structures within the Nuoro Province of Sardinia.
