Rittner-Horn-Haus sits at the summit of Corno del Renon at roughly 2260 meters, offering lodging and meals with views across South Tyrolean mountain ranges. The facility accommodates about 40 guests and serves regional dishes throughout the day.
The shelter was founded as a refuge point for climbers crossing the Eisacktal region and has remained a key stopping place on alpine routes ever since. Over the years it became a recognized mountain hut serving hikers in this area.
The building uses traditional South Tyrolean construction with wooden beams and stone, typical of mountain structures throughout the region. Visitors immediately notice how the craftsmanship adapts the building to the harsh alpine environment.
Access comes via hiking trails requiring roughly one to two hours of walking depending on the route, and year-round operations make it accessible in any season. It pays to be cautious in poor weather, as conditions can turn challenging quickly.
The location serves as a junction for multiple hiking trails that connect different landscapes, leading visitors through dense forests, alpine meadows, and rocky summit areas. This convergence of various routes makes it a natural meeting point for hikers arriving from different directions.
