Monte Zatta, Mountain summit in Liguria, Italy

Monte Zatta rises to 1,404 meters above sea level, featuring a long undulating ridge with steep southern slopes and gentler northern beech-covered inclines.

The name Zatta originates from the Ligurian dialect word 'Sàtta', meaning bowl, referring to the concave shape of the mountain's southern face.

The summit forms part of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri, a 440-kilometer hiking route connecting Ventimiglia in Imperia to Ceparana in La Spezia.

Visitors can access Monte Zatta from Passo del Bocco, following well-marked trails through the beech forest to reach the central peak with its wooden bench.

The mountain features three distinct peaks: Monte Zatta di Ponente at 1,355m, Monte Zatta di Levante at 1,404m, and Monte Prato Pinello at 1,392m.
