Basilica of Our Lady of Humility

The Basilica of Our Lady of Humility is an octagonal Renaissance church in Pistoia with a distinctive red-tiled dome rising above the city. Inside, the space opens upward toward the dome, and the main altar features a 14th-century fresco of the Madonna that draws attention as the focal point.

Construction started in 1495 under architect Ventura Vitoni, and the dome was later completed by Giorgio Vasari. The work happened with support from the Medici family, reflecting their influence in shaping the city during the Renaissance period.
