Museion

Museion is a contemporary art museum in Bolzano housed in a distinctive glass building with transparent facades that visually connect different parts of the city. Inside, the space contains a substantial collection of modern works spanning various artistic mediums and periods.

The institution began in the 1980s as a vision to create a space for contemporary artistic expression. The current building opened in 2008 and became an important cultural gathering point in the region.

The institution operates a second exhibition space called Piccolo Museion in another neighborhood, showcasing more experimental and smaller-scale works. This additional location allows for broader artistic diversity and emerging artists to be featured.
