Reschensee, Artificial lake in Graun im Vinschgau, Italy

Lake Resia extends for 6.6 kilometers in length and one kilometer in width, reaching a depth of 28 meters at its deepest point.

The construction of a dam between 1947 and 1949 submerged the original village of Curon Venosta, leaving only the church tower visible above water.

Local residents maintain the memory of the submerged village through stories about church bells that ring from beneath the lake's surface.

The lake provides opportunities for kitesurfing during summer months and transforms into a destination for ice sailing when temperatures drop below freezing.

The 14th-century church tower rises from the water as the sole remaining structure of Old Curon, marking the location of the flooded settlement.
