Enn Castle

Enn Castle is a fortress sitting on a hilltop above the village of Montan, ringed by vineyards. The structure commands views across the wine region and stands out clearly from many vantage points in the valley.

The castle was founded in 1172 by the Lords of Enn as a replacement for the crumbling Castelvetere fortress. In the 13th century, Count Meinhard II took control, and it later passed to Venetian hands.

The courtyard becomes a concert venue each August when the local music band performs their annual show. This tradition ties together the castle's past with the community's cultural life.

The castle is a private residence and has limited public access since it remains family-owned. Your best chance to see inside is during the annual music festival in August.

The Albrizzi family has owned the castle for generations, continuing a lineage that traces back to its Venetian past. This unbroken family heritage makes it a living link between the medieval period and today.
