Sesvennahütte, Mountain hut at 2256 meters in Schlinig, Italy
Sesvennahütte is a mountain refuge located at 2256 meters between the Engadin and Vinschgau regions. It provides lodging and meals to travelers crossing the surrounding alpine terrain and peaks.
The refuge was built in 1976 to replace the earlier Pforzheimer Mountain Hut on the same site. Since then it has served as an important waypoint for hikers and climbers moving through the area.
The hut serves traditional South Tyrolean food and welcomes hikers with mountain hospitality. Visitors can taste regional dishes and meet other mountain travelers in a setting shaped by Alpine traditions.
Access is typically on foot via mountain trails from surrounding areas, requiring several hours of hiking. The hut is open year-round, but summer months offer the easiest conditions for reaching it along the marked paths.
A memorial column near the hut commemorates four ski mountaineers who survived an avalanche in the winter of 2012. This monument stands as a reminder of the risks faced by those crossing these remote peaks.
