Camerino Cathedral

The cathedral exhibits classical Neoclassical architecture with symmetrical proportions, grand columns, and a central dome rising above the main altar.

After an earthquake destroyed the medieval structure in 1799, architects Andrea Vici and Clemente Folchi designed the current cathedral between 1802 and 1832.

The cathedral houses multiple religious artworks, including a wooden crucifix from the 13th century and a Madonna della Misericordia icon from the 15th century.

The cathedral maintains regular opening hours for visitors, with guided tours available through the main entrance on the western side of the building.

Two stone lions from the 14th century by Armanno da Pioraco guard the crypt, which contains a marble sarcophagus holding Saint Ansovinus's remains.
