Ferentino Cathedral

The Cathedral of Saints John and Paul features thick stone walls, rounded arches, and a central nave flanked by symmetrical aisles with ancient columns.

Founded by Pope Paschal I in the ninth century, the cathedral stands on the former acropolis site and opened officially on June 13, 1108.

The cathedral houses a thirteenth-century ciborium created by Trudo de Trivio and contains serpentine columns attributed to the Vassalletto workshop.

Visitors can explore the cathedral interior, which includes Roman columns from the fourth century and sixteenth-century silver sculptures of saints.

The structure incorporates elements from an ancient Roman temple, including repurposed columns and decorative pieces integrated into its medieval design.
