Leolandia

Leolandia is a theme park in Capriate San Gervasio, Lombardy, with six themed sections and more than forty attractions, including water rides and roller coasters for various age groups. The site spreads over a large area and offers play zones, shows, and dining facilities aimed at families with young children.

The park opened in 1971 as a miniature park featuring reproductions of Italian monuments and gradually added rides and themed sections over the following decades. Today the emphasis is on family entertainment with attractions aimed at young children, while part of the original miniature display remains visible.

Children meet figures from cartoons popular across Europe, who appear during scheduled performances throughout the day. These encounters follow a set timetable and often form part of the daily routine for many families visiting the site.

The site provides changing stations, bottle warmers, and stroller rentals for young children, making visits easier for families with infants and toddlers. Most rides are designed for younger children, so visitors should check height and age requirements for each attraction before queuing.

One section called Expo 1906 recreates fairground rides reminiscent of early twentieth-century traveling shows, including a human cannon and a spinning carousel. This area combines historical showground aesthetics with modern safety standards, creating an atmosphere of past amusement parks.
