Baglio Anselmi museum, Archaeological museum in Marsala, Italy.

Baglio Anselmi is an archaeological museum housed in a former wine production factory from the nineteenth century on the Capo Boeo promontory. The building holds underwater finds, shipwreck remains, and extensive collections from Punic and Hellenistic-Roman burial sites.

The museum opened in 1999 and displays a Punic warship from the First Punic War that demonstrates Phoenician naval technology. The vessel was recovered from the sea and provides insight into ancient maritime construction and naval warfare methods.

Display rooms show statues of Venus and Asclepius that reveal how people in ancient Lilibeo lived and worshipped their gods. These objects tell stories about daily routines, beliefs, and the spiritual world of that time.

Plan to spend time exploring the different display areas, as the collections are extensive and detailed throughout the museum. The location on a raised position offers good views toward the coast and sea, which adds to the overall experience of your visit.

The museum holds rare objects found on the seabed, including ropes, cooking pots, olive stones, and even a wooden button from a sailor's clothing. These small personal items reveal everyday life aboard ancient ships in a direct and moving way.
