Baglio Anselmi museum

The Baglio Anselmi museum occupies a former wine production factory from the nineteenth century on the Capo Boeo promontory in Marsala.

The museum opened in 1999 and displays a Carthaginian warship from the First Punic War, showing evidence of Phoenician naval capabilities in 3rd century BC.

Exhibition rooms present statues of Venus and Asclepius, along with artifacts depicting daily life in ancient Lilibeo through two distinct thematic routes.

Visitors can explore underwater archaeological finds, ancient shipwrecks, and extensive collections of artifacts from Punic and Hellenistic-Roman necropolises.

The museum houses rare maritime artifacts including ropes, cooking pots, olive stones, and a sailor's wooden button found within the Carthaginian vessel.
