Palazzo Gritti

Palazzo Gritti is a palace on the Grand Canal featuring a three-story classical facade with stone balconies and arched windows. The building displays typical Venetian architectural details that show its former importance as a noble residence.

The building was constructed in 1475 and served as the residence of Doge Andrea Gritti. In the late 1800s it was converted into a hotel, giving it a new role that continues today.

Inside, you find handcrafted chandeliers and fabrics that show the skill of Venetian artisans. These pieces reflect how local craftsmanship was valued and displayed in a wealthy household.

The palace sits directly on the Grand Canal and is easily reached by water taxi. Visitors can admire the classical architecture from outside and explore the interior during guided visits or special events.
