Parco fluviale del Tevere

The park spans 7,295 hectares along a 50-kilometer section of the Tiber River, connecting multiple municipalities through diverse natural environments and landscapes.

The Tiber River shaped this land during the Pleistocene period, creating terraced slopes where Etruscan villages and Roman settlements emerged over centuries.

Archaeological excavations near Montecchio revealed Umbrian and Etruscan artifacts, including necklaces and weapons now displayed in regional museums.

Visitors can explore 80 kilometers of marked trails that follow the river course, offering access to natural landscapes and archaeological sites.

Near Scoppieto, remains of a Roman ceramics factory indicate a production center that distributed goods across the Mediterranean region.
