Accademia Tadini

Accademia Tadini, Art and history museum in Lovere, Italy.

The Accademia Tadini is an art and history museum in Lovere displaying paintings, sculptures, archaeological objects, and porcelain collections across multiple rooms with views of Lake Iseo. The premises are fully wheelchair accessible and house a research library with around 4600 volumes.

Count Luigi Tadini founded the museum in 1829, building it on the lake shore to display his art collection amassed during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The construction reflected the growing trend of private collectors opening their holdings to the public.

The main hall has served as a concert venue since 1927, hosting musicians and performers from across Europe. This space has become a gathering point for live arts in the region.

The museum is fully accessible for wheelchair users throughout all its spaces. Plan sufficient time to explore the diverse collections and make use of the research library.

Within the chapel stands the Stele Tadini, a memorial sculpture created by the renowned artist Antonio Canova between 1819 and 1821. This work commemorates Faustino Tadini, the founder's son, and represents one of Canova's later creations.
