Sala Regia, Reception hall in Vatican City
The Sala Regia is a state hall with lavish decorations and magnificent frescoes.
Originally designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger in the 16th century, it is adjacent to the Sistine Chapel.
It is used for receiving official visitors of the Pope.
Not typically open for public tours, its visits are usually reserved for VIP guests.
