Basilica di San Prospero

The basilica features three naves forming a Latin cross under a large dome, with frescoes by Camillo Procaccini depicting the Last Judgment.

Originally consecrated in 997, the church underwent complete reconstruction in the 16th century, with major renovations completed in 1543.

The wooden choir stall, crafted by De Venetiis brothers in 1546, displays country scenes and still lifes through refined inlay techniques.

The basilica opens daily from 8:30 to 12:00 and 16:00 to 17:30 on weekdays, with extended evening hours until 18:00 on holidays.

Six large marble lions from the early 1500s, created by sculptor Gaspare Bigi, guard the church's parvis with their distinctive columned design.
