Basilica di Santa Maria del Colle

The Basilica di Santa Maria del Colle is a Renaissance church with five naves, stone walls, and coffered ceilings decorated with colorful furnishings. The interior holds multiple altars, including a main one with a wooden Madonna statue and a marble baptismal font from the 18th century.

The basilica was built following the 1456 earthquake and expanded to its five-nave structure with a Renaissance facade during the 16th century. This reconstruction shows how the local community renewed its religious spaces after the natural disaster.

The church reflects traditions brought by Lombard craftsmen who settled in the region during the 15th century. These influences remain visible in the decoration and ceremonies that continue to shape how the space is used.
