San Pietro

San Pietro is a Romanesque church located in Radicofani that is reached by climbing a wide stone staircase. The building features a 13th-century entrance portal decorated with a mullioned window.

The building underwent major reconstruction in the 1940s following severe damage caused by World War II military conflict. This restoration work preserved the structure so it could be seen as it appears today.

The interior displays glazed terracotta works by Andrea della Robbia from the early 1500s. These pieces show the skilled artistry of the period and are carefully placed throughout the space.

The building is open to visitors during regular hours and sits near three other religious buildings in the area. Access to the entrance requires climbing a stone staircase, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

A nearby garden displays a statue of Ghino di Tacco, a medieval figure with an unusual story. He was a nobleman from the region who became known for living as a bandit.
