Santa Lucia

Santa Lucia is a Catholic church in Mistretta with a Latin cross floor plan supported by solid columns and featuring two towers, one of which remains unfinished. The structure contains three naves and is enriched with artworks throughout its interior.

The church originated in 1630 through major expansions, including the elevation of the apse and construction of an octagonal tabernacle covered in green majolica tiles. This period marked the main development of its present form.

The church displays regional artistic traditions through works by local craftspeople who decorated its chapels and altars with paintings and statues over many centuries. This artistic legacy reflects the community's connection to its skilled artisans.

The main altar was crafted by a marble worker from Palermo with intricate decorations, showing collaboration between local and outside craftspeople. This exchange shaped the artistic character of the place over time.
