The castle contains a 13th-century tower overlooking the valley, accompanied by a 17th-century palace and additional agricultural buildings.

The castle belonged to the Ghibelline Alberti counts until 1393, then passed to the Machiavelli family before becoming Sonnino property in 1830.

The castle maintains a significant historical archive documenting Italy's entry into World War I and the conferences of Paris and Versailles.

Visitors can explore the monumental cellars, medieval clock tower, working kitchen, and private residence through guided tours starting at the wine shop.

The estate includes 150 hectares of land with 40 dedicated to vineyards and 15 to olive groves, functioning as both historical site and winery.
