Castello di Triana

Castello di Triana is a stone fortress in southern Tuscany built on a rocky hilltop with rectangular towers and thick defensive walls. It overlooks the Albegna valley and the surrounding countryside from this elevated position.

The fortress arose in the 12th century under the Aldobrandeschi family, who secured their control over this strategically important region. The family maintained it as a seat of power across generations.
