Castle of Vecchiano

The Castle of Vecchiano is a medieval fortification built on elevated terrain north of Pisa, overlooking the Tuscan plain below. Its stone walls and defensive structures were designed to protect the area and maintain control over the surrounding region.

Known also as Gaetani or Lanfranchi Castle, this fortification was built during the Middle Ages to defend the territory near Pisa. Its construction reflected the need for military strongholds to control and protect the surrounding lands.
