The fortress extends over 10,000 square meters, containing a central castle, villa, former church, stables, and additional residential structures around a large courtyard.
Built in the 15th century, the castle served as a strategic point near the intersection of the Swiss Road and Via Francigena, collecting passage taxes.
The castle belonged to noble families including the Vialardi di Verrone, Dal Pozzo, and later the House of Savoy-Aosta through royal marriage connections.
Located 60 kilometers from Turin and 85 kilometers from Milan, the castle remains accessible through the Santhià motorway junction within a 5-minute drive.
The castle features a cylindrical tower with swallow-tail battlements, displaying military architecture similar to San Genuario Castle in Crescentino.
