Santa Maria Assunta, Minor basilica in Montecatini Terme, Italy
The Santa Maria Assunta church features an octagonal layout with four chapels adjacent to the presbytery, topped by a spherical tiburium and travertine covering.
The current basilica, constructed between 1953 and 1958, replaced a previous neoclassical church designed by Luigi de Cambray Digny in 1833.
The interior decoration includes stained glass windows created by artist Giorgio Scalco and a central crucifix sculpted by Florentine artist Sauro Cavallini.
Located at Via Giuseppe Mazzini 1, the basilica offers regular mass services and welcomes visitors interested in religious architecture and sacred art.
The church structure combines modern engineering with reinforced concrete foundations while maintaining traditional religious architectural elements in its design.
