San Martino, Former monastery and museum on Vomero hill in Naples, Italy

The Certosa di San Martino stands on a hilltop next to Castel Sant'Elmo, displaying Baroque architecture with marble decorations and multiple cloisters.

Construction of the monastery began in 1325 under Charles of Anjou, with its consecration taking place in 1368 during Queen Joan I's reign.

The museum exhibits contain an extensive collection of Neapolitan nativity scenes, royal carriages, naval artifacts, and paintings from various periods.

Visitors can explore the main church, great cloister, underground chambers, hanging gardens, and multiple exhibition halls displaying historical artifacts.

The monastery features Gothic underground rooms that house over 150 artworks from the 13th to 17th centuries beneath its main structure.
