San Romano, Lucca, Dominican church in Lucca, Italy.

The church of San Romano features a single nave covered by a barrel vault supported by strong pillars and decorated with stucco ornaments.

Built in the second half of the 13th century, the Dominican order used bricks from the demolished Augusta fortress to construct this religious building.

The church contains the marble tomb monument of San Romano, created in 1490 by local artist Matteo Civitali, displaying medieval craftsmanship.

The building currently functions as an auditorium, situated next to the Ducal Palace in the center of Lucca, making it easily accessible to visitors.

Two mechanical organs from different periods stand in the nave near the transept, with the left one dating back to the 17th century.
